Burn Boot Camp: Review & Giveaway!
Burn Boot Camp had been on my radar for the past year. Many of my local friends raved about the group class and how strong and confident they’ve felt after adding it to their weekly and daily routines. I even asked one of my mom friends how she looked so trim in such a short period of time. She leaned over and said, “Burn Boot Camp, you’ve gotta try it.”
That’s it, I was sold. I took the plunge and signed myself up for a two-week free trial. I’ve always worked out in big box gyms so walking through the doors of Burn Boot Camp in Mequon intimated me initially. That only lasted seconds after I was greeted by one of the trainers and a whole group of friendly women. Everyone made me so welcomed. I can say in full honesty after my trial is complete, I’ll be sticking around to achieve many goals I’ve set for myself.
What are the Workouts Like?
Burn Boot Campy is a fun and friendly community style gym that offers multiple camp times throughout the week. AND moms!! Many times include childcare!
No workout is ever the same and all fitness levels will feel welcomed and encouraged. Below is an example of a workout week schedule:
Burn Boot Camp in Mequon is open Monday through Saturday with the following camp times:
Monday-Friday: 5:00AM, 5:30AM, 6:30AM, 8:30AM (with childcare), 9:30AM (with childcare), 4:30PM (with childcare), and 5:30PM (with childcare).
Saturday: 8:00AM and 9:00AM
All classes are 45 minutes long except for 5am which is 30 minutes.
Each week the workout schedule rotates so that you are always surprised and challenged. The workouts either focus on specific muscle groups or style of workout and are paired with one of the numerous protocols or formats that Burn Boot Camp uses. For example, let’s say you show up and it is leg day. The protocol could be anything from a partner workout to self-paced, timed or rep-based, and either circuit, dropset, HITT, or tabata. There is always a warm-up before and finisher after your workout.
The community is what really makes Burn Boot Camp unique. High fives are encouraged throughout the workout as you are sweating next to your neighbor. The trainers walk around encouraging you with words, actions and will pump you up to push yourself further than you think you can go! I’ve never had anyone come up to me in other group fitness settings to give me a high five or encourage me to finish a set. It’s a pretty fantastic feeling to be motivated by fellow women and trainers.
