There are so many interesting and beautiful places to explore in Wisconsin. In our Busy Kids Daytrip series, we’ll highlight some of the fun events and activities for kids at these destinations.
Sheboygan, Wisconsin is a fabulous daytrip destination (especially in summer) and has tons of fun activities for your whole family to enjoy.
Above & Beyond Children’s Museum (ABCM) is a non-profit organization servicing children and families of Sheboygan County and it’s out of town visitors. Located in downtown Sheboygan, it has enjoyed 17 years of community service enhancing the lives and experiences of children and their families.
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm | Closed Mondays
Admission: $6 per Person | Members and Children under 2 are free
The Society is dedicated to preserving railroad history, with an emphasis on railroads that served the Sheboygan area. An ongoing effort was established to collect and catalog hundreds of historical artifacts that represent various eras of railroading, some dating back more than 100 years.
Hours: Tuesday evenings 6:30 – 9:00 and 1st & 3rd Saturdays 10:00 – 2:00.

Bookworm Gardens is a vibrant, playful botanic garden located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and inspired by children’s literature, the natural world, and the imagination.
Open daily May 1 – October 31
Admission to Bookworm Gardens is free with voluntary donation.

Harbor Pointe is a beautifully landscaped, fun-filled outdoor nautical themed 18 hole mini golf course. They have fun & challenging holes with rolling bank shots, water hazards, and many obstacles to test and entertain golfers of all abilities. Also at Harbor Pointe they offer a variety of refreshments including water, soda, coffee, and the ever so popular slushy.
Hours: Opens May 5 & 6, 12:00-8:00pm, then continues to be open weekends in May until May 25. Will then be open full time hours for the summer: Every day 10:00am-10:00pm
Check out this great water park with inflatables for ages 6 and up! You can also rent kayaks and stand up paddle board. Lessons are available.

Kohler-Andrea is a great park to swim, hike, camp and more! It’s a Busy Kids favorite with scenic views and tons of space to roam. Pack a picnic and make a day of it!
Hours: The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

After a busy day exploring, this is one of our favorite restaurants in Sheboygan! Visit on a nice day and take a seat out on their patio and watch the boats go by on the Sheboygan River.
South Pier Parlor offers a sweet experience unlike any other. Enjoy a wide variety of ice cream flavors, fudge, and classic malts while taking in the sights of the waterfront.
Hours: Beginning April 12th they will be open: Thursday 2-9, Friday 2-10, Saturday 12-10, Sunday 12-8. Check website for additional summer hours!
